Edgar Mobbs War Memorial, Northampton. Sculpted by Alfred Turner. Unveiled 17 July 1921. Newly listed at Grade II*. © Historic England DP217165 This is a remarkable memorial to a renowned sportsman and war hero. It consists of a bronze figure of Victory standing atop a tall shaft. On this are reliefs of battle and rugby, and a bust of Mobbs - a rare example of a public memorial to a gallant individual.
